Starting out in local government, Mike undertook various roles across compliance, planning, science and operations before becoming the youngest Regional Council Chief Executive in 2016 (-2020).

Now the Chief Executive of the New Zealand Minerals to Materials Research Institute, and Managing Director for Tai Poutini Professional Services, Mike is also the Independent Chair on the Kotahitanga ki te Uru West Coast Alliance, a Director for Predator Free South Westland, Kiwicare Holdings Ltd and Pest Control Research Ltd.

Strong connections across local and central government, relationships with Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Waewae and Te Rūnanga o Makaawhio, and industry here and further abroad, Mike is able to provide experience, leadership and connections for clients and their projects.
